I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (and shared them first in this post!), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also had them long enough that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a variety of other factors about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Do they fit as expected?
They’re true to size in my experience, at least for me.
Since they keep their shape and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
How comfy are they?
They felt good almost immediately. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since they help with airflow. Top-quality leather, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Bonus, they’re already broken-in so your feet just adjust easily.
How durable are they?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they still look great. The laces are intact, and the shape stayed solid. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
Do they feel better than other shoes?
These are the best sneakers I own. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose still come out on top. They have a hidden arch lift that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re handmade in small batches, so each pair is one of a kind. And the glitter on mine? Next-level.
Would you recommend them?
Absolutely! But I’d recommend waiting for a sale. They cost a lot, so getting them discounted is a better idea. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you find a style that suits you. I chose a loud pair, but a minimalist version would also look great.

They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36. Since they don’t stretch and half sizes aren’t available, I’d choose the larger option.
Is the comfort worth it?
They required minimal break-in time.

Because they already have scuffs, I didn’t worry about scuffing them more. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they still look great. Nothing has torn, and the shape stayed solid.
